  • William Morris: Printing & Painting

    Friday, 6 March 2026

    18:30 - 21:00

    The Mino Studio, Standish

An Arts & Crafts–Inspired Decorative Studio Workshop

Join me for a relaxed and carefully guided evening workshop in the Mino studio, inspired by the rich pattern, colour and decorative beauty of the Arts & Crafts movement and the work of William Morris.

This small-group studio session explores pattern and colour through a simple wax printing and painting process that produces beautiful, structured results — even if you’ve never drawn or painted before. Everything is demonstrated step by step, with a clear process to follow, so you can settle into the making and enjoy the rhythm and repetition of decorative design.

Working from a chosen curated Morris-inspired design, you’ll develop your piece using gentle line, pattern and colour, building confidence as you go. Inks and watercolours are used to create depth, harmony and subtle variation, while maintaining clarity and control throughout the design.

At the end of the session, your main artwork will be mounted and framed in a walnut-toned wood and glass frame, ready to take home and display. If time allows, you’ll also create additional smaller pieces, finished with clean window mounts.

  • Scandi Folk Art, Gouache & watercolour

    Thursday, 19th March 2026

    18:30

The Wayfarer, Alder Lane, Parbold WN8 7NL

Nordic folk art is loved for its decorative patterns, simple shapes and confident colour — often inspired by nature, seasons and traditional design. In this session, we’ll explore those influences in a contemporary way, focusing on pattern, symmetry and expressive mark-making rather than getting things “perfect”.

You’ll choose your design from a curated selection of Nordic-inspired motifs, and I’ll guide you step by step throughout the evening, with close-up demonstrations and plenty of individual support. You’ll be learning from a fully qualified Art & Design teacher, so whether you’re a complete beginner or have painting experience, you’ll feel completely supported.

We’ll work with a beautiful range of materials — including gouache, watercolours, acrylics, printing techniques and touches of gold leaf. You can explore what feels right for you on the night while building layers, colour and pattern into your piece.

  • 🌿 Botanical Designs🌸

    Thursday, 2nd April

    18:30

The Hartwood Hall, Preston Road, Chorley

In this relaxed, fully guided workshop, we’ll explore stylised florals inspired by nature — bold leaves, flowing stems, decorative pattern and layered colour. Using gouache, watercolours and simple printing techniques, we’ll build vibrant compositions that feel fresh, modern and beautifully balanced.

You’ll choose from one of five carefully curated designs, giving you a strong starting point while still allowing space for your own colour choices and personal touches.

This session is perfect for beginners. Every stage is demonstrated clearly and step by step, so you’ll feel supported from start to finish.

  • Vintage Swan, Acrylics

    Friday, 3rd April 2026

    18:00 - 20:30

    The Mino Studio, Standish, Wigan

Join me to create this beautiful vintage-style swan in acrylics on canvas. The soft, muted tones of this timeless palette look genuinely gorgeous in a home interior, and you can tweak the colour palette to suit your own space.

If you’ve been to the Mino Studio, you may have spotted the beautiful piece on the wall by one of my sixth form students — the inspiration behind this session.

This workshop is fully guided step-by-step by an experienced Art & Design teacher, with plenty of support throughout. The small studio setting makes it easy and comfortable to come on your own or with a friend.

  • Blooming Watercolours

    Thursday, 16th April

    18:30

The Wayfarer, Alder Lane, Parbold WN8 7NL

Step into an evening of gentle watercolour exploration as we paint these beautiful blooming florals in luminous colour.

We’ll explore the rich, layered beauty of these expressive blooms — from soft blush pinks and glowing coral tones to delicate highlights and deeper shadowed folds within the petals. Working with flowing washes and vibrant colour, we’ll build depth and movement within the petals, capturing the softness and energy that makes watercolour such a magical medium.

This relaxed workshop is perfectly designed for beginners and improvers alike and is taught completely step-by-step, with up-close demonstrations every step of the way. The session is led by a qualified and experienced Art & Design teacher, so you’ll feel supported and guided throughout the evening.

“Fabulous experience all round. Great evening even though we’d not done anything like this since school days! Relaxed, enjoyable and all the resources you need. It was great to give it a go and experience the freedom of painting without expectation. Totally liberating and I’ve painted since.”
